DGNB is the Danish standard for sustainable construction. DGNB is based on a holistic approach where sustainability is assessed on five qualities: environmental, economic, socio-cultural, and functional, technical and process in a sustainable balance. The qualities are assessed, and the building is certified within a number of categories (gold, platinum, etc.) according to how sustainable the overall result is.
